Today we got a call.......

Well actually I had to call. We're going in to Palos Hospital on Wednesday June 6th at 8pm to be induced. Unless she has different plans for us, she'll be born on either the 6th or 7th 2007.

It's crunch time

Well another day, another drs appointment. Finally somethings starting to happen. First off we'll find out tomorrow what time we're going in for to be induced. Palos Hospital won't take appointments for induction until 1 week before the the induce date which has to be at least no more then 1 week before the due date. They won't even do it a day early. When the nurse checked for dialation she was 2 centimeters. She said the cervix was real thin and she could feel the baby's head and the water bag. That'll make things nice and quick when we go to be induced, IF we make it that far. I'm willing to bet she comes early. Possibly tomorrow which also happens to be Paige's 4th birthday.

As of now there looks like there will be one more update (tomorrow) and that'll be it until she's born. Tonight will consist of getting everything ready. All the essentials including my camera and laptop!

Music news

Today on the way to the Dr visit as well as leaving it, I set my iPod on shuffle and the baby danced a lot. She seems to like Pearl Jam, Clutch, The Clash and Elton John. More to follow.

My how quickly things change

Well today we had another check up. No dialation so far. Everything is fine. The baby will be born a week early. On Wednesday June 6th, sometime in the evening, we're going into the hospital and labor will be induced. That is of course, if she doesn't decide to come earlier then that. We'll have time next Wednesday after our next check up.

Well we started our first of the weekly doctor visits his past Wednesday. Everything is normal and well. Nothing new to report just that there's less then one month to go as of this past Monday.

Good news!

Well good news. First off last week we had a regular Dr's appointment. Listened to the heartbeat and it sounded good. Also, the Dr briefed us on the heart. Everything is fine. Everything is developing normally. We still had one more ultrasound. That brings us to today.

We had a (most likely last) ultrasound today. Everything looked good. Everything was fine. Both the nurse and the Dr. at the ultrasound office both confirmed that everything was fine. False alarm.

We got another batch of ultrasound pictures today. She's looking a lot like Payton. The pictures that we got show her with her right hand over her eye. Her right foot is also up there. She is in position so she'll be ready to come out when the time is right. Her estimated weight currently is 4lbs 1 oz.

I'll have the pictures from the ultrasound scanned and posted within the next few days as my time permits.

Ultrasound II

Today we went to the Dr for the ecco and ultrasound. As of now it's not clear exactly what is, if anything, is wrong with the baby's heart. The lady that looked at it was a specialist but not a cardiologist. She said that most problems clear up before birth. After looking at it she said that everything looked fine. She's going to forward the tape, pictures and everything else related to the ultrasound to a pediatric cardiologist and we shall know the full results in a few days.

Below are pictures from the ultrasound. Click on the picture for a larger view. Warning, pictures can be big and take a while to load.

Heart

We went to the doctor last Thursday. The Dr. didn't explain what the potential problem is. We need to go to another ultrasound in about 3-4 weeks. The baby's heart was to small at 21 weeks to really see anything. It'll be a lot bigger when we go to the ultrasound. They'll then be able to look at it in further length. Updates then.

Prequel Updates

Here's a quick update on the first two Goodman Baby Projects. Paige and Payton are doing great. They have the flu right now but are fine otherwise. Here's a recent picture of them. Click on picture for larger version (warning:large picture).

Baby name.

Well I have two things to report. First off and the most important. Yesterday the nurse from the Dr's office called and told Traci that there may be a problem with the baby's heart. It may be nothing but they would get into further detail on the next visit which is the 22nd.

Second thing, I didn't realize this until now but I haven't said what our baby's name is going to be. We're going to name her Piper Laurie. We decided to stick with the P's (with Paige and Payton). It came down to either Piper or Paris. We did like Paris but decided against it due to the bad rep that Paris Hilton has. We didn't want our girl to grow up with that burdon since we all know how mean and crude kids can be. That's it until the Dr's visit unless something else comes up.

One last thing, I'm going to attempt to post some audio of the heartbeat from the last Dr's visit. It isn't to clear so I'm not sure but keep checking back.

Ultrasound

Today was the ultrasound. We found out that we are going to have a baby girl. That makes 3 girls. No boys :(. That's ok though I'm fine with it. Below are the ultrasound pictures. Click on each one for a larger view.

She was being stubborn and wouldn't look up. She kept looking down and away from the scanner. We got 2 side shots and a foot.

Welcome to the official blog for the birth of my 3rd child. Today, 1-31-2007 marks the official announcement. The baby is currently due on June 16th, 2007. Two weeks after my oldest daughters birthday and two weeks before my (soon to be middle) youngest birthday. June is a busy month.
